This is The End, My Friend
1st Place 2D
I love the shape of dead tree's. While in California, we visited the Sequoia National Forest. This beautiful tree, after living a very full life, had finally fallen and died. The dead tree was on it's side, with most of the truck and limbs already gone. But the magnificant roots that gave this tree life for so many years was still there for all to see. The intricacies of the root patterns, how they wove around each other and moved in and around the other roots held my attention; how each root moved out of the way of stronger ones so that the tree itself would have the best chance of survival. Yet all the roots were unique and beautiful one their own.
