“Refuge from the Blizzard” is an Encaustic Painting which I created by applying many layers of hot wax onto a birch board. Using the process of applying the wax with my brush held at an angle, I created texture and then added string to represent the swirling wind. It represents the bitter cold and wind of nature’s Winter season.
